Glass Microwave Safe Lid Set for Bowls, Mugs, and Pots

Susan Castriota, a breast cancer survivor, was determined to create a safe alternative to plastic lids for frequent microwave users like herself. She was inspired by the scientific findings linking very low doses of BPA exposure to various diseases, including cancer and early onset of puberty. Synthetic estrogens can leach from heated plastic into food, even in BPA-free plastics, which contain synthetic chemicals called EA (estrogen activities) that can migrate into food. In addition, plastics can harbor food borne bacteria even after normal washing, whereas glass does not. This led Susan to create the Cuchina Safe Lid.

OVEN USE
Cover your Pyrex, Corning, Dutch ovens, and other cookware with the Cuchina Safe Lid, which is oven safe up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The 3 vents allow steam to escape, helping to prevent boil-overs and lid rattling.

MICROWAVE USE
Use the Cuchina Safe Lid to cook, steam, and reheat in the microwave. You can cook cereal, eggs, pasta, potatoes, meats, frozen meals, popcorn, and cakes. Steam fresh or frozen vegetables, rice, and seafood. Reheat leftovers, melt butter or chocolate, and keep your microwave clean from splatters.

STOVETOP USE
Cook and steam your food with the Cuchina Safe Lid on top of pots and pans. Steam vegetables, monitor your mac-n-cheese, soups, pasta, and grains. Use it as a splatter shield when frying bacon and other messy foods. Do not use the Cuchina Safe Lid directly on the stovetop or in broiler.
